Life Can Only Give You What You Put Into It

The New International Version translation of Galatians 6:7-9 reads:

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Put into today-ish business-like terms, you can only get out of life a dividend of what you initially invest into it. If what you deposit is based on good, good should come back to you. If what you deposit is not based on good, it is unreasonable to expect good to come back to you.

But that is the problem. To many people deposit little to no good yet expect a Powerball-like gifting of good to come to them. Just because it should be possible. It is not possible.
