The key word is ‘can.’ Social media can be used to spread inspirational messages or retreaded hate speech. You can discover new and interesting music with it or find the same old misogynistic speech being featured.
You can learn a lot about those around you or you can get sucked into mindlessly scrolling that wastes what little spare time you have and frustrates you with selected shots of cultivated lives, which may just be cultivated lies.
You don’t have to dump your social media. But it might be wise to meter your time spent on it.
